Crystal Clear Azure Coloured Water

From the moment you step on the ferry to the Blue Lagoon, have your camera ready to capture the cliffs and blue azure water on your journey to this little piece of heaven on earth. The photos are exactly how it looks, it is breath-taking.

We were warned how crowded it can be, so we arrived on one of the first boats, hired sunlounges, and got the perfect spot on the rocky cliff edge. I’m glad we did because we had it almost to ourselves and was able to take some beautiful photos before boat loads of people arrived. It is stunning so you can’t blame people flocking here, it is truly a place to be seen.

This natural lagoon on the island of Comino is the clearest water I have ever swum in. The water is shallow and calm, and I kept marvelling at how clearly I could see my feet in the water no matter how deep I walked. Despite feeling like I had been dropped on a rock for the day it felt like pure paradise.

The lure of the stunning turquoise waters in this natural pool surrounded by two islands tempted me on more than one occasion to gently wade through the water, cool down, and admire my surroundings from a different perspective.

Despite being one of Malta’s not so hidden gems, the Blue Lagoon more than lived up to the hype and is possibly one of the most stunning places I have ever swum.
