An Unforgetable Exhilirating Experience

A trip to Abu Dhabi is not complete without exploring the vast desert landscape surrounding this modern city. There is something timeless about the desert, I looked around in awe as we reached the sandy mountains while our driver partially deflated the wheels in preparation for this much anticipated adventure.
I am no adrenaline junky, and I must admit I was slightly naïve to the fact there were going to be some white-knuckle moments as our driver flaunted his skills making his way up and down the gigantic dunes. I suppressed the need to scream particularly going down the dunes where you were holding tight in a vertical position.
After what felt like a lifetime driving, even though it was probably only fifteen minutes, we ended up in what felt like the middle of nowhere. We were free to jump out of the car, take in our surroundings, and allow the heartrate to drop back to a normal rhythm. We climbed the dunes looking for that perfect place to watch the day disappear into darkness. There was a lot of laughing as we tried to find some grip in the finest sand my feet had ever touched.
There is something magical about exploring the expanding rolling dunes and witnessing a spectacular sunset. Describing an experience like this one is difficult to put in words, but if I was to try, I would say once the adrenaline subsided you are left speechless at the beauty and serenity of sitting on a sandy hill looking at the desert sands for as far as the eye could see.
If you are looking for natural beaches, beautiful hotels and a heart racing theme park, Abu Dhabi should be on your list. This chilled out Emirate is a popular stopover destination where you could spend your time relaxing by a pool, but there are loads of things to do beyond the resort.
